My name is Dionna Jean.

I was a plant cell for Halloween in seventh grade. I get excited when I see wind turbines. I really, really like calculus. And penguins. And books.

I’m as tall as a Middle Earth Elf, but I have the appetite of a Hobbit. It’s not a bad life, really.

I can eat a week’s supply of grapes faster than you can say “Dinosaurs don’t eat ice cream”. (Poor dinosaurs.)

I dream in chocolate. And sword fights.

Welcome to Kitchen Whimsy, my little corner of the internet, where I share with you my grain-free, dairy-free, and refined-sugar free morsels. This is my contribution to the plethora of Paleo blogs that are taking over the world; I’m purely assisting in their Domination.

Here, you’ll find recipes that are tasty, gut-friendly, and I’m-a-horrible-cook-with-no-time-but-I-want-to-be-healthy-without-eating-only-celery-all-day friendly.

Thanks for stopping by. You’re a peach.

  1. Your writing is so funny and enjoyable 🙂 I love reading this.

I never had such interesting choices for Halloween. I was witch, native american and Princess Leia. And that’s it. I always dreamed of the fanciest costumes, but never put much effort into actually making them real.

You know, I’m not as tall and still have the appetite of a Hobbit… which has effect on my curves… so I bet I’m much more of a Hobbit than you 😉

I’ve actually never had much to do with Paleo stuff (I had to research what a Paleo diet is supposed to be. So you try to make chocolate fudge with stone-age resources? I don’t really get it. Your recipes sound great though)

Well, okay, I’m a peach. I stopped by. So do you love me now? 😀

    1. Thanks so much!! I’m so glad you like ite 😀 😀
And as for the word “Paleo”… Yes, originally the lifestyle was called “paleo” because it mimics the dietary options of our ancestors (thus choosing from the purest ingredients possible). In other words, this lifestyle removes all grains, dairy, legumes, refined sugars. However, a lot of times people will sort of “expand” this definition of the paleo diet and still eat honey, maple syrup, etc. For me, I base my recipes off of the concept of “paleo” (as in, the purest ingredients possible), because it’s a good general term, but really just eat and cook with what foods make me feel best. So that’s veggies, meat, and limited amounts of nuts and sugars from fruits and honey. Thus, while fudge was perhaps non-existent years and years ago, the general concept is basically using ingredients that are nicest to us. So, it’s less trying to make fudge out of stone-age resources, and more of trying to make fudge out of ingredients that are the best and least tampered with (that happen to be those foods that were around aaaaallll those years ago). Hope that helps!
And yes now I love you 😀 😀
